Hanging ...... Headboards, Skirted Tables & Mirrors

Oh my goodness....I can't believe it's been so long since I posted on the Blog.  I've been so busy, but haven't taken the time to write anything down !!! This one is going to be all over the place so get ready to follow me down a rabbit trail.... To start with, I changed out my headboard and got a new bed - (that's gonna be another OutOnThaPorch topic) and when I took it down I was quickly reminded of how extremely heavy this headboard is AND not everybody knows how to hang one.  Or anything else that heavy for that matter. You can see in this article from the October Issue of Cottage Journal Magazine this headboard is huge !!!  It was 80" wide and 60" tall.  I bet it weighed 75 or 100 lbs by the time it was covered. Most of the time these headboards have legs on the two ends and sometimes in the middle to raise them off the floor as shown in this photo. Bean Bag Chair Slipcover

MAKE A SLIPCOVER FOR AN OLD BEAN BAG CHAIR https://www.youtube.com/user/patemeadows   How many of these ole things have you seen at yard sales and at the thrift stores??  More than I care to count.  There is a reason !!!  They aren't ever available in pretty fabrics.  Mostly, team colors or like this one, dark YUK!  And when you ask your kids what kind of chair they would like for their room - they always, always say "I want a bean bag chair"!  So after we swapped beds around - Abby wanted a bigger bed instead of the cute twin beds shown here that I wrote about in a previous post. So we switched the full size bed from the guest room and her twin beds.    We also did shelving out of iron pipe and 1 x 12s, but there wasn't much room for a place to sit and play her video games.  She kept asking for BEAN BAG CHAIRS.  All I cold think of was all the mess that was going to be on the floor along with these Bean Bag Chairs.   While &q
